Attestation Regulations

ATTESTATION REQUIREMENTS (for kids)

KYU/DAN TERMS OF PERMISSION FOR ATTESTATION AGE
10 KYU Aikido training period at least 6 months (yellow) from 9
9 KYU Aikido training period at least 6 months after receiving 10 KYU (yellow)  
8 KYU Aikido training period at least 6 months after receiving 9 KYU (orange) from 10

ATTESTATION REQUIREMENTS (for elderly)

KYU/DAN TERMS OF PERMISSION FOR ATTESTATION AGE
5 KYU No earlier than 3 months and at least 30 worked-out training days.  
4 KYU No earlier than 3 months after 5 KYU and at least 40 worked-out training days.  
3 KYU No earlier than 3 months after 4 KYU and at least 60 worked-out training days.  
2 KYU No earlier than 6 months after 3 KYU and at least 80 worked-out training days.  
1 KYU No earlier than 6 months after 2 KYU and at least 100 worked-out training days.  
1 DAN No earlier than 6 months after 1 KYU and at list 120 worked-out training days. from 16
  • This regulations are for the students who study on regular basis in one of Aikikai branches at least
    15 days/month for year. Branch head gives permission to submit a qualifying examination application.
  • The branch must sign and  submit qualifying examination application at least 3 days before the examination.
  • Attestation Committee of Aikido World Headquarters in Russia gives final permission for examination in case the student don't belong to one of Aikikai branches.
  • Kids under age of 16 can wear color belts meeting their received KYU rank.
  • Male in 1 Dan and female in 3 KYU are allowed to wear hakama.
  • Students ready for examinations for shodan have to participate in special pre-examination seminars for black belts "YUDANSHA-CLASS" in addition to the regulations of Aikido World Headquarters for examination on KYU and DAN
